Many 1st's!

Leah has seemed to experience many "firsts" this summer so far. The past post mentioned her 1st movie but she was also at her 1st wedding last weekend. She was so excited to go to a wedding and have been preparing her for weeks. She was excited to see the bride and groom, the dance, the food, etc. She sat pretty nice for the ceremony- got a little antsy but what do you expect, she's 2! When we got to the reception, she was very wild and wanted to run around everywhere which was okay, it was social hour and wasn't too formal yet. But once supper started, she didn't want to sit. So daddy took her to the golf course outside to cool off so mommy could cool off. What a good daddy! Anywho, once Leah was cooled off the dance began and so did the fun! She loved watching all the people and the "princess". She even got out there by herself and danced. Lots of people loved watching her "moves"- not really moving her feet, just swinging her arms with a twirl every once in awhile. She even got to dance with the "princess" meaning the bride and that really made her day! It was great fun just watching her have a blast.

Another 1st she experienced at the end of June was camping. We stayed in Jarrod's mom's camper for 3 nights at the Yogi Bear Campground in Wisconsin Dells. Leah absolutely loved it. It was like her little house. She'd open and shut the door, play around in the kitchen, put her babies to bed. We even set up a little tent outside to play in and she kept her toys out there. That was kind of her reading area. She'd take her book and blanket to go read in there. Leah loved having the campfire every night with s'mores. Things got a little messy but that's the fun of it, right? Besides the camping fun, we did many activities outside the campground since the weather was on the chilly side. We rode the Ducks, went to the Deer Park, got our gangster portrait taken, and went to the Circus Museum. Leah seemed to enjoy all of those things except for the Deer Park. It may have been a little too much having those deer walk around people freely, begging for food. I think she especially enjoyed the Circus Museum in Baraboo, WI. They had a kids show in which kids would participate in the show and also had a real live show with acrobats, clowns, and animals. She didn't not take her eyes off that. She just held her popcorn with her eyes glued. Since we've been promising her a waterpark all week long but never had the opportunity to go to an outdoor one in the Dells, we decided to go to the Waterpark of America when we got back! The vacation couldn't end yet. So that was another 1st was going on the family raft ride which was supposed to be kid friendly but wasn't even parent friendly. What a ride! Poor Leah had to listen to her parents scream the whole way down. What good examples!

It's fun experiencing all of those 1st's with Leah and can't wait to do more. Speaking of 1st's, Leah's 1st sibling is well on its way. We had another Dr. appointment today and everything is looking well. Leah and Jarrod went to this appointment with me to hear the heartbeat and all thought that was really neat. Our next appointment is Sept 4th in which we find out the gender so of course, we will do a poll to see what everyone thinks!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

First Movie

Today Leah went to her very first movie in the theater today, "Ice Age". We were pretty excited, hoping to turn over a new leaf but Leah didn't seem "that" into it. She went in there just fine and seemed excited to experience everything- the big screen, popcorn, and all of the people. But as the movie went on she became antsy in her seat- was on mom's lap then dad's then back in her chair. When mom said "it's almost done", she kept repeating it really loudly! I guess all in all she did pretty well for her first movie being only 2 1/2 years old!

Busy Girl

It's definitely been awhile since our last blog so sorry to those who check this often! This past month has been pretty busy to say the least. It's been filled with trips to the zoo, dentist, visiting friends, and fun with dad and mom. As most of you know now, Leah will be expecting a baby sister or brother January 22nd or sometime around there. So she's been pretty excited talking about the baby, whether it'll be a boy or a girl, and what she'll all to to help and love it. So far she said that she will hug and kiss it, change clothes and diaper, and feed the bottle. It's fun seeing what ideas she comes up with. She's stuck on it being a girl but we'll see! My first ultrasound was today and Leah is very proud of the picture. Pretty cute!

Last weekend, daddy was gone on a funfilled fishing trip while Leah and I had some girl bonding time. She had fun making cookies, visiting friends in Rochester, watching movies, playing at the zoo and park, and of course- swimming! She absolutely LOVES the pool and is always talking about it. Another little girl at the pool kept trying to get Leah's ball but good ol' Leah stuck her ground! That a girl!

Toys that she's really into now are barbies, princess dress up, and wearing her backpack. She wears her Cinderella dress everywhere she goes. She even wore it at the park the other day with her heels! Such a girly girl. Eventually she took the shoes off but not her dress. Oh well no need to make a big deal out of nothing. A new toy that daddy found for her is a powerwheels Jeep. She loved it when we had it in the house during a very rainy weekend but once we got it outside, the fun wore off. Poor daddy just wants to see her fly down the road! One of these days.

It's great fun seeing her develop into this little girl with her own agenda and personality. What a fun age to experience!
