Many 1st's!

Leah has seemed to experience many "firsts" this summer so far. The past post mentioned her 1st movie but she was also at her 1st wedding last weekend. She was so excited to go to a wedding and have been preparing her for weeks. She was excited to see the bride and groom, the dance, the food, etc. She sat pretty nice for the ceremony- got a little antsy but what do you expect, she's 2! When we got to the reception, she was very wild and wanted to run around everywhere which was okay, it was social hour and wasn't too formal yet. But once supper started, she didn't want to sit. So daddy took her to the golf course outside to cool off so mommy could cool off. What a good daddy! Anywho, once Leah was cooled off the dance began and so did the fun! She loved watching all the people and the "princess". She even got out there by herself and danced. Lots of people loved watching her "moves"- not really moving her feet, just swinging her arms with a twirl every once in awhile. She even got to dance with the "princess" meaning the bride and that really made her day! It was great fun just watching her have a blast.

Another 1st she experienced at the end of June was camping. We stayed in Jarrod's mom's camper for 3 nights at the Yogi Bear Campground in Wisconsin Dells. Leah absolutely loved it. It was like her little house. She'd open and shut the door, play around in the kitchen, put her babies to bed. We even set up a little tent outside to play in and she kept her toys out there. That was kind of her reading area. She'd take her book and blanket to go read in there. Leah loved having the campfire every night with s'mores. Things got a little messy but that's the fun of it, right? Besides the camping fun, we did many activities outside the campground since the weather was on the chilly side. We rode the Ducks, went to the Deer Park, got our gangster portrait taken, and went to the Circus Museum. Leah seemed to enjoy all of those things except for the Deer Park. It may have been a little too much having those deer walk around people freely, begging for food. I think she especially enjoyed the Circus Museum in Baraboo, WI. They had a kids show in which kids would participate in the show and also had a real live show with acrobats, clowns, and animals. She didn't not take her eyes off that. She just held her popcorn with her eyes glued. Since we've been promising her a waterpark all week long but never had the opportunity to go to an outdoor one in the Dells, we decided to go to the Waterpark of America when we got back! The vacation couldn't end yet. So that was another 1st was going on the family raft ride which was supposed to be kid friendly but wasn't even parent friendly. What a ride! Poor Leah had to listen to her parents scream the whole way down. What good examples!

It's fun experiencing all of those 1st's with Leah and can't wait to do more. Speaking of 1st's, Leah's 1st sibling is well on its way. We had another Dr. appointment today and everything is looking well. Leah and Jarrod went to this appointment with me to hear the heartbeat and all thought that was really neat. Our next appointment is Sept 4th in which we find out the gender so of course, we will do a poll to see what everyone thinks!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
